Hathayoga Pradipika (I. 65 & 66) – Yoga is not obtained by a mere reading of the scriptures (Shastra’s) . . . nor by wearing the dress [of a Yogin], or by talking about it; practice alone is the cause of success.

Karen Miller

Hometown: Fort Myers, Florida

PHILOSOPHY

With the start of everyday an opportunity to ‘do the work’ presents itself. We can
chose to live an authentic, purposeful life by starting exactly where we are with
circumstances exactly as they are. When else? How else? And when our
perceptions of reality become murky and distorted, practice self-kindness first.
Reawaken to reconnect, then continue the journey. As poet Mary Oliver asks, “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

David Richardson

Hometown: Richmond, VA

PHILOSOPHY

A practice that explores strength, balance and flexibility. Moving in an intelligent and thoughtful manner to explore the physical edge while connecting with breath.
David began practicing yoga shortly after he moved to Colorado in 2010. He quickly developed a connection with the practice, finding a way to explore strength, balance and flexibility. He completed his Colorado School of Yoga 200 hour teacher training with Julia Clarke and Gina Caputo in 2014. His practice and teaching are grounded in exploring and learning more about the physical, mental and emotional experience that is yoga. Every day discovering new ways to connect within the union of mind, body and breath. In class you can expect to find a deep breath connection, travel through thoughtful and creative sequences, and to flip your perspective as you go upside down and play with arm balances and inversions.
